In this on-stage discussion with NR Narayana Murthy, we reveal key insights on how he created and scaled Infosys from a start-up in Bangalore, to a globally respected multinational corporation. We ask him about his approach to business, his values, and the philosophy that defines his vision. Crucially, we also ask Murthy to reveal his greatest struggles, what went wrong and what he regrets. We ask him about going public, handling investors, and about recent events regarding the leadership and corporate governance of Infosys.
Narayana Murthy is one of the brilliant minds behind the founding of the Indian multinational corporation, Infosys. The company was formed in 1981 with a $250 loan from his wife, Sudha. He is an industrialist described by Time magazine as the “Father of Indian IT Sector” and listed among the 12 greatest entrepreneurs of our time by Fortune magazine. Today Infosys employs more people than Google, Facebook and Microsoft combined.
